...captures the very emotions of eating disorders,
allowing people to see them as very human, very painful experiences.

From Above, girl lying on the floor under spotlight

Welcome!

"From the Body Cage" is a film aimed at the loved ones of those who are or have been afflicted. If you are a parent, a partner or a friend, you must be struggling to comprehend why the one you care about is behaving in such strange ways. This film will help you get into their head. It is also useful classroom tool, showing just how much pain does the initially seemingly innocent behaviour lead to.

The film offers an insider's view to the paradoxical logic of bulimia nervosa. It is unique in two ways: as far as we know, it is the first film on eating disorders made by insiders to the issue - and the first film to attempt a portrayal of the sheer state of mind of a sufferer. It gives a voice to those who have been thus far observed, studied and stereotyped. We hope that through this, treatment and prevention will become more successful.
